Meet Bobby Abtahi: Candidate for Dallas City Council Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Abtahi earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and his JD from SMU Dedman School of Law. December 7, 2012, Washington, D.C. – Robert “Bobby” Abtahi, former Dallas Plan Commissioner and former City of Dallas Community Prosecutor, recently announced his bid for a seat on the Dallas City Council. If successful, he will become the first Iranian American to serve on the council.
