Irvine, CA – On Sunday, January 30, 2011, the first Iranian
American Women’s Conference was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in
Irvine, California. The
Pathways to Success Women’s Leadership Conference attracted 570
participants and featured 40 Iranian American women who contributed to
various panel discussions and sessions, ranging from health and
nutrition to leadership. The purpose of the Pathways to Success
Women’s Leadership Conference was to provide connectivity
between women
in the community by bringing them to one place to discuss hot topics,
as well as provide them a place to network and find support from
peers. PAAIA was a proud co-sponsor of the

Tahoe, CA –PAAIA Nex/Gen is pleased to co-sponsor the 2011
Persian Snow Festival (PSF). The festival will take place in South Lake
Tahoe, CA from March 4th-6th, 2011.
PSF was created over 4 years ago to encourage the younger generation of
Iranians Americans to meet and socialize in a more casual environment.
“The inspiration came from seeing such groups like the National
Brotherhood of Skiers in Vail, CO,” explains founder Soroush
Rahimian. “My co-founder and I thought it would be great to
combine two valuable resources our region has access to: the Lake Tahoe
area and friends and family who are interested in strengthening our
sense of community.”

Washington, D.C. -On
February 17th, 2011, the Washington
D.C. Chapter of the Iranian
American Bar Association (IABA) will host an informative panel
discussion entitled “2011 OFAC Update: Iran Sanctions.” This
event, which will be held at Venable, LLP, will feature a panel of
legal experts and officials from the Treasury Department’s Office of
Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The event will
allow for a unique exchange of dialogue between the Iranian American
community and U.S. government officials regarding trade law regulations
between the U.S. and Iran. The distinguished panel will highlight
the practical ramifications of these rules and how they impact the
Iranian American community.
