Trusted Members
of the Community

There are an estimated 1 million Iranian Americans that are part of and add value to the fabric of America.  They are trusted community members that hold inherently democratic values and have the best interests of the United States at heart.  Iranian Americans contribute to all levels of U.S. society, including military service, law enforcement, and government.  They are especially prominent in the fields of science, technology innovation, medicine, finance, law, and business.

Adding Opportunity
to the Fabric of America

The Small Business Administration (SBA) conducted a study that found Iranian immigrants among the top 20 immigrant groups with the highest rate of business ownership, contributing substantially to the U.S. economy. According to the report, there were 33,570 active and contributing Iranian American business owners in the U.S. with a 21.5% business ownership rate in 2011. The study also found that the total net business income generated by Iranian Americans was $2.56 billion.

Almost one in three Iranian American households have annual incomes of more than $100K (compared to one in five for the overall U.S. population).  About 50% of all working Iranian Americans are in professional and managerial occupations, greater than any other group in the United States (Bayor, 2011).

Adding Achievement
to the Fabric of America

Iranian Americans are among the most educated and successful immigrant groups in the United States.  Our Annual Survey of Iranian Americans revealed that 86% of respondents hold at least one college degree, and the Iranian American Contributions Project estimates that publications by Iranian Americans have been cited 2,384,858 times.

According to a report by the Iranian Studies Group at MIT, Iranian Americans have founded and/or participated in senior leadership positions of many major U.S. companies, including many Fortune 500 companies such as GE, Intel, Citigroup, Verizon, Motorola, Google, and AT&T.

The Iranian American community is made up of people from all faiths: Jews, Christians, Muslims, Baha’is, and Zoroastrians.
Iranian Americans believe in freedom of religion and the separation of Church and State.
  They believe
in the
pillars of America–life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Adding Civic Virtue
to the Fabric of America

Iranian Americans believe in the tenets of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  They are proud to give back to the country that has given them so much. From founding charitable organizations to volunteering in their local communities, Iranian Americans continuously work to improve the lives of all Americans. They also want a better future for their families in Iran. Since 2008, our annual surveys show that Iranian Americans want to see a democratic Iran that respects human rights, and they support diplomatic efforts to achieve this goal.
