Cyrus Habib was elected Lieutenant Governor of Washington state in November 2016 at the age of 35. He had previously been elected to the State House of Representatives in 2012 and the State Senate in 2014, where he was Democratic Whip and a member of the Democratic leadership team. As Lt. Governor, he is President of the State Senate, serves as Acting Governor whenever Governor Inslee leaves the state, and oversees an agency whose key issues include economic development, trade, and higher education.

As part of the many things his office is doing to help the people of Washington state throughout the COVID-19 crisis, his office has started the Washington Mask Challenge, which is an initiative to bring together homemade mask makers and organizations in need of masks in order to increase the availability of protective equipment for those in need.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
