PAAIA members, staff, and friends are profoundly shocked and horrified by last week’s shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The utter senselessness and heinousness of this act defies comprehension.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the victims of this crime, their families, the staff, teachers, and students at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and the people of Newtown. We hope the prayers of many and the words of Jalal a’Din Rumi bring them some solace in their time of grief.
“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because, for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation.”
In response to this horrific tragedy, the United Way of Western Connecticut, in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank, has created the “Sandy Hook School Support Fund” that will provide support services to the families and community that have been so deeply affected.
