The Glass House: A Story of Courage and Second Chances

The Glass House, by Iranian American director Hamid Rahmanian, is a documentary set in Tehran about the Omid- E- Mehr rehabilitation center for disadvantaged young women. The Glass House is the untold story of courageous young women who have been abandoned, abused and cast aside by their society and the incredible impact that the Omid-E-Mehr center has had on their lives.

Omid-E-Mehr was created in 2004 by Marjaneh Halati, a London-based social psychologist and psychotherapist. The organization helps young women, between the ages of 15 to 25, who suffer from severe mental and emotional difficulties and provides them with resources to strengthen their social, emotional and economic competencies. Omid- E- Mehr does all of this without any funding or assistance from the Iranian government.

The Glass House will air on the Sundance Channel on November 16th at 9:00 PM. Upcoming screenings are scheduled in October for Washington, D.C, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Houston. Click here to get more information about the screenings.
