Passing the Torch of Success in Washington DC Adds Two Additional Notable Honorees

The Washington DC Chapter of PAAIA is pleased to honor two additional accomplished Iranian Americans at its Passing the Torch of Success Event on Sunday, September 18, 2011.

Christiane Amanpour, Host of ABC News’ This Week and former Chief International Correspondent for CNN and Ramin Asgard, Director, Voice of America – Persian, former Political Advisor to US Central Command, Former Director, Iran Regional Presence Office in Dubai will be honored at this event, which will be held at Lisner Auditorium of the George Washington University.
 
Other honorees include:

Anousheh Ansari – First Female Private Space Explorer & First Space Ambassador, Serial entrepreneur, Co-Founder of Prodea Systems

Nazanin Boniadi – Actress, Charlie Wilson’s War, Iron Man, Next Three Days, General Hospital, How I Met Your Mother, etc.

Nazie Eftekhari – Founder, Chair & CEO, HealthEZ, Inc.

Nariman Farvardin – President, Stevens Institute of Technology, Formerly Senior VP for Academic Affairs & Provost, University of Maryland

Firouz Naderi – Director for Solar System Exploration at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) , Former Associate Director, NASA’s JPL, Former Mars Exploration Program Manager who headed the Program during the successful landing of the rovers on Mars

Vali Nasr – Author & Former Senior Advisor (on Middle East and South Asia Issues), Obama Administration and Professor of International Politics at Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University

Pardis Sabeti – Assistant Professor, Center for Systems Biology & Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, Harvard University

Faryar Shirzad – Global Head of the Office of Government Affairs, Goldman Sachs & Former Special Assistant to President Bush, International Economic Affairs and Member of White House National Security Council

The event will be hosted by well-known Iranian American comedian, Maz Jobrani, and former CNN Anchor, Rudi Bakhtiar.
 
Tickets ($50 adults, $25 students) for this unique event are on sale at Ticketmaster.com(keyword: PAAIA). This event, which has been sold out at other venues, is expected to sell out quickly and interested individually are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets early.
