PAAIA Commends President-Elect Joe Biden on Projected Victory

Washington, D.C. – Today, Leila Austin, executive director of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization serving the interests of Iranian Americans, issued the following statement in reaction to projections that former Vice President Joe Biden has garnered enough votes in the Electoral College to be president-elect:

“PAAIA congratulates President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on today’s projected victory and stands ready to work with the new administration to advance the priorities of the Iranian American community. Together, we will work to achieve unity and promote common interests: end discriminatory policies, reunite families, and encourage humanitarian assistance, connectivity and democracy abroad. PAAIA applauds the record number of voters who participated in this election and we thank those who volunteered their time to engage in meaningful ways throughout this election cycle, whether on campaigns or at the polls.”
