PAAIA Bay Area Chapter Hosts Reception for Cyrus Habib

October 18, 2012, San Francisco, CA – On October 8, 2012, PAAIA members and friends from the San Francisco and Silicon Valley hosted an event in support of Cyrus Habib, candidate for the Washington State House of Representatives. The event was held at the home of Laleh and Mohsen Moazami and included a diverse crowd of business and community leaders from the Bay Area.

Habib is the official Democratic Party nominee for the 48th Legislative District. His campaign is being supported by a bipartisan list of local, state, and federal leaders and was recently endorsed by the Seattle Times. If successful, Cyrus will be the first Iranian American elected to state office in the country. He recently won over 56% of the vote in Washington’s Primary Election on August 7th.

Habib grew up in Bellevue, Washington and is a proud product of its public schools. Having lost his eyesight at age 8 to a rare form of childhood cancer, he learned early the importance of equal opportunity, hard work, and a quality education. After winning a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford, Habib attended Yale Law School, where he served as editor of the law review. He returned to Washington following his graduation, and works at the Seattle-based law firm of Perkins Coie, where he assists startup technology firms with their early-stage legal needs.
