Washington, DC – As tensions between the United States and Iran continue to grow, the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) has issued the following statement:
“PAAIA is deeply concerned about the potential for unnecessary conflict between Iran and the United States. We believe that U.S. national interests are best served by prioritizing diplomacy and supporting the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people. Threats of war between the United States and Iran only detract from the shared interests of all Americans: peace, prosperity, and democracy.
PAAIA’s polling data consistently shows that while Iranian Americans would like to see a democratic Iran that respects human rights, they prefer to resolve differences with the Iranian regime through diplomacy rather than military action. Before we send our American sons and daughters into war, we should exhaust all possible diplomatic options.”
