Washington, D.C., September 18, 2009 – The U.S. Congress returned to work after a month-long summer recess with the future of health care and U.S.-Iran relations topping a full agenda. As such, it is now more critical than ever not to lose track of the people we elected to represent us. To ensure that Iranian Americans are fully informed about the voting records of their members of Congress, PAAIA is pleased to offer MegaVote as a public service on its website.
MegaVote is a resourceful tool that helps users remain up to date and informed about the voting records of their elected representatives with minimal effort through a weekly email when Congress is in session. Included in the email you receive will be valuable information such as how your members of Congress voted and upcoming votes.
MegaVote is one of several useful resources offered by PAAIA via its Online Action Center. Here, users have direct access to detailed biographic information on public officials and can find numerous resources that allow them to communicate directly with their elected representatives and the media, register to vote, and take action on policy matters that are important to them. Utilizing PAAIA’s Online Action Center, we can collectively take action to help promote and advance the interests of the Iranian American community on issues that impact us.
