Dr. Lotfi Asker Zadeh, a giant in computer science, received an honorary doctorate at Ryerson University’s commencement ceremony. He is well-known for his work on fuzzy sets and its applications to artificial intelligence, linguistics, logic, and expert systems. Currently, Zadeh is a Professor Emeritus at University of California Berkeley and the Director of the Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing.
