The above is an image of a sculpture relief of the ancient relic, the Cyrus Cylinder, created by renowned artist, Farok Ligvani. Encompassed in a beautiful wooden frame, this 3-D work of art is an 18″ x 28″ mixed media, merging painting and sculpture.
The work, titled Suc.cinct, describes the deep and beautiful message of equality, liberty and brotherhood that was expressed on the Cyrus Cylinder. To prepare this work, Mr. Ligvani reviewed the English translation of the Babylonian Cuneiform inscription on the Cyrus Cylinder, studied and learned the technique of Cuneiform script, and subsequently inscribed the message onto the art piece. This limited edition of 25 commemorates the legacy of Cyrus the Great and what the Cylinder symbolizes.
Mr. Ligvani presented this piece for the very first time during PAAIA’s Annual Gala on August 9, 2013. Only 8 more pieces of this beautiful and unique work of art are available, on a first come first serve basis, for $3,000* each. Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated by Mr. Ligvani to PAAIA.
