April 13, 2011, New York, NY – The 8th Annual Persian Day Parade went off without a hitch in New York City on April 10th, thanks to the hard work of the Persian Parade planning committee (www.nypp.org) and the myriad participants who enlivened Madison Avenue with the riches of Persian culture.
A number of PAAIA Tri-State New York members marched in the parade alongside colleagues from the Iranian American Bar Association (www.iaba.us).
April 13, 2011, New York, NY – On Sunday, April 3, 2011, PAAIA and the Iranian American Bar Association (IABA) collaborated to host a Nowruz dinner that welcomed nearly 130 Iranian American lawyers and non-lawyers from the Tri-State area.
Held at the venerable Andrew Hamilton Hall (modeled after Philadelphia’s Independence Hall) in the landmark building of the New York County Lawyer’s Association (NYCLA), the event featured current Housing Court Judge Sabrina Setareh Kraus who spoke about the value of civic engagement through organizations like IABA and PAAIA as a way of having a meaningful impact on society and helping other community members.
As a benefit to our members and as a cornerstone of our mission to empower the Iranian American community across the United States, the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) is pleased to announce our Second Annual Mentorship Program. PAAIA’s mentorship program provides the opportunity for Iranian Americans to receive one-on-one guidance from highly accomplished professionals within the Iranian American community. Application process for the 2011 Mentorship Program will begin this Friday, April 15, 2011.
The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) has a summer internship opportunity in Washington DC available to college and university students.
Position Summary: The intern is expected to participate and drive several projects currently under way in the DC including: assisting with planning and preparing for the Passing the Torch of Success event, developing materials on Iranian and world history, as well as several other projects under review.
