Too many Americans don’t know an Iranian American.  They have a mistaken view that Iranian Americans are something we’re not.  It doesn’t help that some politicians want to promote that myth or demonize the people of Iran.  PAAIA has launched a new commercial that shows Iranian Americans are as much American as any other.  We put America’s national security interests first.  That’s a big part of the reason we support President Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran.

Accomplished

Iranian Americans are scientists, scholars, soldiers, business leaders and media personalities.  They are patriots who contribute greatly to the United States through their accomplishments, diversity and support for peace and diplomacy.

Support Peace

Isolation promotes hostility and anger. The nuclear agreement with Iran encourages reform inside Iran and peace throughout the region. PAAIA represents Iranian Americans who want a free, pluralistic and peaceful Iran. We’re convinced the nuclear agreement is our best chance to further those objectives.

Senator Graham

On May 22, 2015, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina addressed the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, where he made a prejudiced statement against Iranians.

“Everything I know about the Iranians I learned in the pool room…I met a lot of liars and I know the Iranians are lying.”

In response, thirty-seven prominent Iranian Americans, consisting of current and former government officials, foreign policy experts, scientists, business leaders, authors and media personalities, sent an open letter urging the 2016 presidential candidates to refrain from broad generalizations about the Iranian people when discussing the prospective nuclear agreement taking shape between the P5+1 and Iran.
