September 7, 2012, Washington, D.C. – On August 11, two devastating twin earthquakes struck the province of Azerbaijan, Iran. Hundreds were killed, thousands injured and 50,000 displaced to emergency camps. Damage to infrastructure was devastating with 70 to 100 percent of buildings destroyed: including schools, homes and businesses. Though the disaster has quickly fallen off the radar of the media, earthquake survivors are still in dire need of assistance to rebuild their lives. Since then Relief International has been providing assistance to the victims of this devastating tragedy.
