Congratulations to all Iranian-Americans in the greater Pittsburgh Region.
On March 9th, 2010, Pittsburgh City Council presented the Nowruz Proclamation in honor of the Persian New Year. (See the Attached PDF).
The Nowruz Proclamation is a part of broader efforts to foster greater understanding of Iranian culture and heritage as well as projecting an accurate and positive image of the Iranian American community that truly reflects our values and achievements.
I would like to once again congratulate all Iranian-Americans in our community for this historic accomplishment and recognition.
To commemorate the arrival of spring, Nowruz and Persian New Year, I would like to invite you to join us as well as public officials of State of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh in celebrating this historic occasion. The details are as follows:

On March 9th, 2010, Pittsburgh City Council presented the Nowruz Proclamation in honor of the Persian New Year. This proclamation, sponsored by City Council Member Patrick Dowd, declared Saturday, March 20th, 2010 to be a day for celebrating Nowruz in the city of Pittsburgh.
