PAAIA Announces 2013-2014 Mentorship Class

September 30, 2013, Washington, D.C. – The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Mentorship Class, after our most competitive application cycle yet.

PAAIA’s Mentorship Program represents one of PAAIA’s core tenets – to help a new generation shine by tapping into the talent, industriousness, and generosity of our community and professional leaders. Many young adults, taking their first steps into the professional world, do not have access to the experience and counsel that is necessary to make career decisions that will let them achieve their fullest potential. In recognition of this, PAAIA launched the Mentorship Program in the spring of 2010. The program matches and connects young mentees with experienced mentors for a dialogue which shows them the path to fulfilling their destinies. 

The program, which runs from September to June of each year, gives the younger generation access to industry leaders from across the nation. The all-volunteer PAAIA mentors are recruited from among the organization’s members and associates. The mentees are selected through an application process and are matched with a mentor for one-on-one meetings. Many past mentees have said that they obtained new and priceless insights from the program that have helped them make better decisions when faced with  choices and/or challenges , both professional and personal.

This year, the program includes a dazzling array of mentors, with a wide range of ages and work experience, thus allowing more of our youth access to a dialogue around about how to identify and pursue their dream careers and professions. PAAIA’s ability to help the next generation of Iranian Americans thrive in the professional world is at the heart of our work, and a guiding principle in our ability to contribute to the innovation of our country and the preservation of our heritage.
