NBA Star Hamed Haddadi Celebrates Iranian Heritage Night Across the Nation

Hamed Haddadi the first Iranian to play in the NBA and the center for the Memphis Grizzlies, and his manager Mayar Zokaei noticed that at every road game Iranian Americans came out in impressive numbers to show their support and meet Haddadi. Seeing this as an opportunity to mobilize the Iranian American community, and with the support of the NBA they created Iranian Heritage Night.

Iranian Heritage Nights are produced by Javanan Magazine and One Group Events, in association with the NBA and its respective teams. The purpose of these events is to mobilize and introduce the Iranian American community to Haddadi . The first such event took place in Los Angeles in early 2009 and garnered immense popularity and traction for the 2009-2010 NBA season.
Iranian Heritage Night is also creating awareness of Iranian culture by incorporating Iranian American performers throughout the games. For instance, Farshid Amin will sing the National Anthem at the Golden State game (11/04/09), where the Niosha dance academy will perform during halftime.  Andy will sing the National Anthem at the Los Angeles Clippers game (11/29/09) where the Luna RAQS Dance Academy will perform.

For each Iranian Heritage Nights event, a special block of tickets have been reserved at deeply discounted rates. Those purchasing these tickets will receive early entrance into the games, an 8 x 10 photo of Haddadi, an Iranian Heritage Night t-shirt and a pass for a special meet and greet with Haddadi either before or after the game.
