Iranian Students in Need – Financial Hardship Survey
Dear Friend,
PAAIA and your fellow Iranian students need your help!
Due to the recent devaluation of Iran’s currency, PAAIA has received reports that Iranian students at U.S. colleges and universities on F-1 visas have been experiencing financial distress and hardship. While many Iranian students rely on scholarships and research/teaching assistantships, some continue to pay out of pocket for expenses. Many of these students are dependent on the financial support of their families in Iran.
PAAIA has developed a survey that aims to gather information on the extent of the hardship and how it is impacting students. The results of this survey will assist us in determining what steps we could potentially take to help them. We ask that you share this survey with those you know who are on F-1 visas, and ask them to complete it.
The survey, which takes no more than five minutes to complete, will be open until February 10, 2013.

The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonreligious organization that serves the domestic interests of Iranian Americans before U.S. policymakers. In the past, we have successfully supported and facilitated resolutions and shifts in U.S. policy that affect Iranian students, including the issue of multiple-entry visas. In order for PAAIA to continue to effectively advocate on behalf of the Iranian American community, it is imperative to identify the areas of greatest concern to our constituents. This is precisely why we ask that you take a few minutes of your time to help us out.
Again, your assistance and the information we gather will allow us to help fellow Iranian students. Help us spread the word.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
