Iranian Americans Receive Oklahoma City Humanitarian Awards

December 3, 2013, Washington, D.C. – The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) congratulates Jalal and Mohammad Farzaneh on being selected as recipients of the Oklahoma City 2013 Humanitarian Awards from the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice.
Jalal and Mohammad Farzaneh were among five recipients selected for showing leadership and courage in living and promoting the organization’s mission of eliminating bias, bigotry, and racism.
Jalal and Mohammad Farzaneh, owners of Home Creations, were recognized for their leadership in creating Oklahoma City University’s Endowed Chair in Islamic Studies and their efforts in bringing Iranian music and culture to the Oklahoma City metro area through concerts, films, and other community programs.
The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OCCJ) is a human relations organization dedicated to promoting understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education. OCCJ’s programs focus on the topics of interfaith and interracial dialogue, discrimination awareness and prevention, and learning to live together with our deepest differences.
