IAAB ANNOUNCES STUDENT SUMMIT 2011 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

IAAB ANNOUNCES STUDENT SUMMIT 2011 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.New York, NY: Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) will be hosting its 3rd annual Student Summit in Washington, D.C., November 4-6, 2011.

IAAB’s Executive Director, Mana Kharazzi, characterizes her experience with last year’s Student Summit as a turning point in her career; “I walked into the 2010 Student Summit expecting it to be my last program. Instead, I left feeling more energized and inspired as a leader. I left with a clear vision of what the future would hold –a powerful network of students leading and shaping our community. After an incredible experience with over 50 student leaders from across the country, all I could think was ‘I want to be a part of this future.’”

IAAB’s Student Summit is a unique initiative that brings together Iranian American university student leaders together from across the country to learn, engage, and plan. The Student Summit is an extremely successful program designed to foster communication between Iranian American college students and dedicated to developing leadership skills and creating a network between students, university groups, and organizations.

The program features speaker panels and small group workshops that target both individual and community skills, creating an environment that encourages open-mindedness and collaboration among participants.

After last year’s absolute success, Student Summit has expanded it’s capacity by three times and plans to having active participation in the institutions that have become involved with the IAAB Campus Action Network (I-CAN), the largest network of Iranian American student groups across the country.

As a non-political and non-religious organization, IAAB’s programs are open to all races and to all creeds. Applications are now available. All university students are encouraged to apply and space is limited.
