PAAIA Brings the Noor Iranian Film Festival to the San Francisco Bay Area June 26, 2013, Washington, D.C. – The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) is proud to announce that it is bringing the “Best of the Noor Iranian Film Festival” to San Francisco this summer. On Friday, July 19, Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21,2013, the PAAIA San Francisco chapter and the Diaspora Arts Connection will be screening past winners of the Noor Iranian Film Festival (NIFF) at Central Stage. Selected films that will be shown include “Hayedeh: Legendary Persian Diva,” “A Conversation to Remember,” and “Tamom Gol,” among many others. The event is free for PAAIA members. Iran’s Golestan Palace Inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List June 25, 2013, Washington, D.C. – Iran’s prestigious Golestan Palace has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, the top honor for monuments, buildings, sites or natural features “of outstanding universal value.” The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization made the decision on Sunday during the World Heritage Committee’s 37th annual session held in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.
