Washington, D.C., September 9, 2008 – PAAIA’s Executive Director, Babak Hoghooghi, and Director of Public Relations, Rudi Bakhtiar, were guests on VOA’s “Do Ruzeh Aval” with Bijan Farhoody on September 6, 2008. During the hour long interview, Hoghooghi and Bakhtiar presented a preview of the Profiles of Iranian Americans, being sponsored by PAAIA and discussed the organization’s mission to represent the domestic interests of the Iranian American community before U.S. policymakers, opinion makers and the American public at large.

CNN Covers Iran Workshop Sponsored by PAAIA
Washington, D.C., July 14, 2008-The PAAIA-sponsored Teacher's Workshop on Iran held by the World Affairs Council of America was featured today in a CNN report. The workshop was held from July 8th to 11th and brought together high school teachers from across the country to learn more about Iran and Iranians for use in the classroom. Educating our fellow Americans about our country of origin and projecting an accurate and positive image of Iranian Americans is one of PAAIA's top priorities. Read more

Washington D.C., April 26, 2008 - Iranian Americans began to realize they needed someone to speak up for them. They were chief executives and had doctoral degrees, they belonged to professional associations and Persian new year committees, but they had little political clout and no organized lobby or friends in Congress, as do Cuban Americans and Indian Americans.
