Washington, D.C., September 9, 2008 – PAAIA’s Executive Director, Babak Hoghooghi, and Director of Public Relations, Rudi Bakhtiar, were guests on VOA’s “Do Ruzeh Aval” with Bijan Farhoody on September 6, 2008. During the hour long interview, Hoghooghi and Bakhtiar presented a preview of the Profiles of Iranian Americans, being sponsored by PAAIA and discussed the organization’s mission to represent the domestic interests of the Iranian American community before U.S. policymakers, opinion makers and the American public at large.
VOA, which first went on the air in 1942, broadcasts more than 1,250 hours of news, information, educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated worldwide audience of 134 million people. The Persian language broadcasts of the VOA are estimated to have a viewership of up to 20 million people in Iran and elsewhere in the world.
