WASHINGTON – President Trump’s controversial Executive Order temporarily banning nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries is causing a crisis. PAAIA continues to monitor this situation.
Last night, we hosted a conference call with Representatives from civil rights organizations and immigration attorneys. to answer the community’s questions about how the immigration ban impacts them. Hundreds of community members joined the call.
Despite rumors that President Trump may include additional countries in the Order, the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA) has received word from the State Department that there are no current plans to expand the ban beyond the current countries.
