PAAIA Releases Congressional Scorecard for the 113th Congress

October 30, 2014, Washington D.C. – The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) released its Congressional Scorecard for the 113th Congress today. PAAIA’s  2013-2014 Scorecard informs the public on positions taken by members of Congress regarding issues of importance to the Iranian American community.

The primary purpose of PAAIA’s biannual Congressional Scorecard is to ensure that Iranian Americans are informed about the voting records and performances of their members of Congress. In addition, the scorecards ensure that members of Congress are aware that their votes and positions on issues of importance to the Iranian American community will be analyzed and made public.

The scorecard for the 113th Congress focuses on legislation and congressional actions regarding civil liberties, immigration, and foreign policy. We have included a “special category” which features noteworthy legislation that does not fall neatly into any particular topic.  This year, we are also highlighting letters signed by members of Congress, which may be of interest to the Iranian American community.
